The Senior 40+ Class was the first class to come off the gates at the Air Nautiques/ AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships. Even at 7:30 a.m. it was apparent that the #1 plate of Doug Doubach was ready to go. He was the first off the gate to take home the $100 MotorcycleUSA-Superstore.com Holeshot Award. From there, Doubach was barely challenged. In the first lap, Mike Treadwell looked to be a tough contender until he fell. From there Doubach took the win effortlessly.

While the Senior 40+ winners were celebrating on the podium, the 250 C Modified Class was already on their site lap. Brad Allison took the holeshot as he was the fastest off the gate only to fall in the off camber section of the track. Jesse Pierce grabbed the lead while a battle brewed behind him between Timothy Thorn in second and John Tortorigi in third. As Pierce put landscape between him and the other riders, Allison started picking off riders to move into fourth place.

Conner Elliot in third  and Thorn in second became the battle to watch behind Pierce. As the two lap board goes out, Pierce stays in the lead, followed by Elliot and Thorn. Pierce stays in the lead for the win, and Elliot and Thorn take second and third behind him.

The 250 B Modified Class saw incredible racing action from Eli Tomac, as he lead practically leads wire-to-wire to win with an almost 28 second lead. Lance Vincent took the holeshot but Tomac was quick on his heels and overpowered him for the lead. Vincent hangs in second for a little while but falls back. Grant Randsell and Justin Summers turned into the show to watch as Tomac increased his lead on the field. Behind Randsell and Summers, Jason Brooks and Zackery Freeberg tried to make a run for the podium, and pressured Randsell and Summers. James Justice even joined in on the fun but Randsell and Summers kept the fight in the family as they tried to catch Tomac. When the dust cleared, Tomac took the win by close to 28 seconds, with Ransell in second and Summers in third. Freeberg settled for fourth behind.

The 450 A Class was quite possibly one of the best motos of the day. Les Smith started out in the lead, with Malcolm Stewart in second and Sean Lipanovich in third. The 10 Commandments section of the track shuffled the riders in the first lap. Justin Weeks started to make a hard push to the front of the pack, passing up Lipanovich and Sunny Drake. Malcolm Stewart started to gain on Smith and by the third lap Stewart took the lead with Weeks fast behind. Smith fell back to third. Weeks starts a challenge on Stewart but picked a weak line two laps in a row. Weeks recovers in the 7th lap and overpowers Stewart for the lead and starts putting distance on Stewart and Smith who soldiered on in third. Weeks won with about 8 seconds to spare with Stewart in second and Smith in third. Even though Les lost the lead, he still took home the MotorcycleUSA-Superstore.com holeshot award.

The Vet 35 Class saw solid riding from Keith Johnson, Mike Treadwell and Kevin Walker. They keep their pace the whole way through, despite the efforts of Treadwell to take over the lead.

Adam Cianciarulo was the kid to watch in the 85 (12-13) Stock Class. The 12-year old dominated older riders as he e took the lead after The Ten Commandments in lap one. Justin Hill tries to take him down but Cianciarulo stayed strong. Jesse Masterpool joins in the battle in third place and the three battle back and forth to knock each other out of their positions. Hill almost succeeds knocking Cianciarulo out until he goes down and has trouble restarting his bike. He remains in third place, letting Thomas Covington have the bronze medal.Masterpool grabs second and Cianciarulo takes a well-deserved first.

In, 450 B Stock Nick Paluzzi got the holeshot and checked out, Tucker Thrower, Eric Saunders led behind him at the start of the moto. Then Bryce Valle moved up to take second. Ryan Zimmer in third.Paluzzi starts pulling away and clocking fastest laps.Tanner Krahenbuhal  moved into third after coming from behind, after displacing Justin Starling and Ryan Zimmer. Vellee and Starling battled for second and third as Tanner moves back to fourth.

450 A/Pro Sport might be the fastest class of the week arguably.  MotorcycleUSA-Superstore.Holeshot went to Derek Hall. Dean Wilson takes lead ahead of Shawn Rife and Cody Robbins. Hall went out after a wreck.Cameron Stone moved up behind Rife and Robbins for fourth place.Then, Stone was displaced by Travis Baker. Wilson dominated while Baker  moved up to third place. With the checkered flag out Wilson took a dedicated win. Baker took a well-earned second and Shawn Rife in third.

In 65 (7-11) Modified Drake Degaynor got the holeshot then led the 65 (7-11) Modified Class. Sean Cantrell and Kade Walker took second and third. A real showdown ensued between Cantrell and Walker as they took 1st and second place. Drake fell to sixth place and Walker took over the lead from Cantrell. Joey Crown took the lead after a misstep from Kade Walker who fell to second. Cantrell and Wentworth got in third and fourth. Crown was about three seconds up on Walker. Kade Walker grabbed the first place position. Cantrell grabbed second and Wentworth, third. Crown went off the map. Walker took the win, followed by Cantrell and Wentworth.

In 51 (4-6) AMA 1 Stock, Stilez Robertson, Cameron Davis and Gauge Keith take it 1st-3rd.

In, T51 (4-6) Stock Shaft Drive Chase Yentzer stayed strong with Coates and Stiers in second and third. The kids clocked about a 3.5 minute lap. Yentzer barely held onto his lead as Stiers pressured him in the final turn. They took first and second with Coates in third.

The Girls Class (11-15) saw Maheu take first and Serratua Gonzalez in second, Victoria Pearce in third.

In Junior 25 Plus, Jon Boruff is first, Nicholas Vaughn in second, Kevin Walker in third. Boruff, Vaughn and Walker kept it together at a second or less apart from each other. Kevin Walker made it past Vaughn to take second.Boruff, Walker and Vaughn hold it for 1st-3rd.

The Schoolboy 1 (12-16) B/C is competitive. I think the term is "freight train", Luke Renzland, Kyle Peters and Bradley Frace were in the lead. Peters took over the lead, with Renzland in second and then Frace. Frace passed up Renzland and Frace took the lead at an  amazing pass right in front of the announcer's tower. So then, it was Frace, Peters and Renzland--all about 2.5 seconds apart. Jacob Hayes and Joey Savatgy were close behind in fourth and fifth. Savatgy made his move and vaulted into third place. Renzland fell back into fifth place. Austin Coon got the Holeshot.

The Senior 45 Plus featured 1989 Blackwater 100 Champ Timmy Coombs. Dubach got the holeshot. Doug Dubach, Earl May, Raymond Niebel ran 1st-3rd. 1989 Blackwater 100 Champ Tim Coombs was in 18th spot. Rita Coombs said "I hope Timmy doesn't get hurt, he has to pick up trash tonight." That's motherly love. Craig Pickett, Matt Tedder, Johnny Borders for 50+. Dubach, May and Niebel still holding down 45+. Dubach, May and Niebel got the win. Pickett, Borders and Tedder won in 50+.

In the 450 C Class, Noah Mcconahy, Mason Collins, Pierre-olivier Lavigne started in 1-3rd. Cody Boehmer passed up Lavigne and Collins to take second. Then, Mcconahy, Boehmer, and Collins in 4th-6th.  Will Posey passed up Lavigne to take fourth. Blake Barnes came out of nowhere to take third behind Mcconahy and Boehmer. Barnes passed Boehmer in the sweeper turn. MCconahy, Barnes and Boehmer on the podium.

The 250 A/Pro Sport Class was an incredible race. Taylor Futrell, Cody Robbins, Les Smith ran first through third place off the gate. Futrell's Honda had some competition with Cody Robbins and Les Smith almost literally on his heels. Tommy Weeck and Jason Anderson were in the mix as well. It was a cluster of riders battling through the track. Smith moved up to the second place spot.  Anderson takes the lead, followed by Futrell, Blake Baggett, and Les Smith. Anderson suddenly went off the map. Futrell then, in the lead, followed by Baggett and Les Smith. Baggett and Futrell side by side and Baggett takes the win. Baggett, Futrell and Les Smith 1-2-3. Anderson was still nowhere to be seen.

In Super mini 2 (14-16), Zach "Saved By The" Bell took the early lead, Kodi Kamm in second, followed by Jeremy Martin in third. Martin moved into second, Kamm in third. Dillan Epstein took Kamm's place in third. Bell was by himself in the fifth lap. Martin was 14 seconds back, Nichols a little bit further back. Bell and Martin gapped Nichols by about 12 seconds. Bell strong in first, followed by Martin as white flag goes out. Nichols in third.

In the 450 B Modified, Gannon Audette took the lead, followed by Heath Harrison and Justin Starling. Zack Freeberg returned and was in fourth place. Freeberg put the challenge on Starling and Harrison. Freeberg moved up to third place.  Audette took first, Harrison second and Starling takes third in lap 8.

The 85 (9-11) Modified's Alexander Frye had a nice lead going through first lap. Followed by Stephen Gretchen and Mitchell Harrison. Patrick Lods, Mark Worth and Logan Mcconnell 4-6th. Frye stayed in first but Mark Worth  moved up from fourth place to second place with Gretchen in third. Hunter Hilton moved into fourth. Jeremy Hand and Blake Green in fifth and sixth. Battle ensued in 4th,5th, 6th places. Blake Green overtook Gretchen for third. Green battled with Worth. Green took second asthe  two lap board goes out. Final Lap with Frye 7 seconds ahead, followed by Green and Worth. Frye, Green and Worth for the win(s).
