The following are the Supplemental Rules for the 2009 AMA Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championships:
RED denotes changes for 2009.
1. The following riders may enter the A/Pro Sport class only:
a. Riders earning AMA Pro Racing motocross points the previous year;
b. Riders qualifying for an FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 Grand Prix event in the current or previous year.
2. The following riders are not eligible to participate in the National program:
a. Riders earning AMA Pro Racing motocross points in the current year;
b. Riders qualifying for an AMA Supercross main event in either the Supercross Lites or Supercross class in the current or previous year; or
c. Riders earning an AMA Pro Racing national number (2-99) in motocross or supercross in the current or previous year.
3. Riders earning a top 5 national ranking in the previous year's WMA Championship may only participate in "A", A/Pro Sport, and Age classes (excluding the Vet B/C class).
4. Riders who placed in the top 5 overall in a "B" class at the previous National and are 16 years of age or older as of January 1, 2009, are no longer eligible to compete in a "B" division.
5. A rider may not participate in a "C" class if:
a. The rider has ever participated at the National in any previous year in any class;
b. The rider is receiving or has ever received any type of OEM factory support in any class;
c. The rider earned a Rider Performance Value (RPV) of 15 or higher the previous year in any class, including youth divisions; or
d. The rider has no RPV and raced prior to 2007 in 6 or more events at the age of 13 or older, and a calculation of the RPV based on those events provides a value of 15 or higher.

6. After qualifying, riders should not advance in class prior to competing in the National.
7. Proof of age must be available upon request by event referee or at rider registration.
8. For youth classes, age is based on the rider's age on January 1, 2009 as stated in the AMA Rulebook. For all other classes, age is based on the rider's age as of August 3, 2009.
9. All riders under the age of 18 years must have a parent present or a duly notarized parental consent form, as required by the AMA Rules and Regulations in order to participate.
10. Riders may participate in only one 51cc class at the National.
11. Classes 14, 30, 31: Riders who have ever been classified as a Pro, Pro Am, or "A" rider in a non-youth class, are not eligible for these classes. Supplemental Rule 4 does not apply to these classes.
12. Class 32: Girls (11-15): Maximum wheel size: Front 19"; Rear 16".
13. Class 33: Women (14 Plus): Minimum wheel size: Front 19"; Rear 16".
14. Riders may ride a stock motorcycle in a modified class.
15. 2010 model machines are NOT eligible in any class.
16. Challenges to rider eligibility must be in writing and sent certified mail, U.S. postmarked no later than June 30, 2009. Rider eligibility protests will not be accepted after that date.
17. The National entry from international riders should be sent by express mail.
18. The claiming rule value is two times the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) at all area Qualifier, Regional and National events.
19. Riders must choose only 2 classes for the National.
